Bruce is an entrepreneur, author, speaker and director at W.consulting. He is passionate about IFRS and is part of the global standard setting process as a member of the IASB’s IFRS Interpretations Committee (IFRIC) in London. He has worked for Deloitte both in South Africa and the United Kingdom in their IFRS Centres of Excellence consulting on the implications of IFRS; and with Barclays Capital in London as an Associate Director in the Structured Capital Markets group involved in the IFRS conversion projects for the Structured Capital Markets, High Value Leasing and Private Equity divisions of Barclays Capital, as well as IFRS consulting to the structuring teams. During his career, he has worked with multinational listed companies, public sector entities and SME’s. Bruce supports the profession as a member of the Financial Reporting Standards Council of South Africa. He was formerly a member of the IASB’s IFRS Advisory Council and the IFRS SME Implementation Group. During his career, Bruce has delivered services across Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Australia. During his career, he has presented on behalf of the International Accounting Standards Board, and has presented to the United Nations Global Compact. He has co-authored various publications including the Deloitte accounting manual ‘IAS: A Guide to Preparing Accounts’; Deloitte ‘UK GAAP’; Wiley IFRS 2011 – 2014; and Applying IFRS for SMEs 1st and 2nd edition.
Raymond is a Director with W.consulting. He trained with Coopers & Lybrand and Ernst & Young, where his portfolio of clients included listed multinational entities, public interest entities as well as other significant unlisted entities. Since leaving the profession, Raymond has worked across various industries that include Agri-processing, Aerospace and Defence, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods, Manufacturing, Mining, Public Utilities, Telecommunications and Travel, Hospitality and Leisure. He has been involved in IFRS, Sustainability Reporting and Integrated Reporting consulting and implementation projects for JSE-listed and public interest entities and has, over the years, gained significant experience in the interpretation and practical application of IFRS and corporate reporting. He has also consulted to the World Bank on capacity building on IFRS skills and monitoring in Southern Africa. He is a co-author of the publications Applying IFRS for SMEs and for a number of years was co-author of the internationally-renowned Wiley Interpretation and Application of International Financial Reporting Standards. Raymond is a member of the IFRS Foundation’s Small and Medium-Sized Entities Implementation Group (SMEIG) and of the Financial Reporting Investigations Panel of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. He also serves on the Zimbabwe Accounting Practices Board and sits on the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Continuing Professional Development and Legal & Compliance Committees.
Tapiwa has over 20 years’ experience in financial reporting and business consultancy. He is a Chartered Accountant (SA). He trained with Coopers & Lybrand and also has experience with Ernst & Young and Andersen locally and regionally. Internationally Tapiwa has worked in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. Tapiwa’s experience includes exposure to large listed and public sector entities. Industry experience covers financial & professional services, mining, manufacturing, tourism, and transport amongst others. Tapiwa is a member of the Accounting Practices Committee (APC) of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. Apart from being a member of SAICA, Tapiwa is also a member of the Advancement of Black Accountants in Southern Africa (ABASA). In 2007 Tapiwa served as a member of the GAAP Monitoring Panel (GMP) of the Johannesburg Securities Exchange (JSE).
Blaise is a Technical Director at W.consulting, specialising in financial reporting in the public sector. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Grant Thornton as an Audit Manager, Gobodo Inc as a Senior Manager in the Technical Standards division, and at Protect a Partner International as Head of Accounting and Technical Excellence. His areas of expertise include Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Financial Reporting Standard for Small and Medium-sized Entities (IFRS for SMEs), International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISA). He provides technical consulting services and training to the firm's clients on these frameworks, both locally and abroad. In March 2012, he was appointed by the South African Minister of Finance to serve as a board member of the Accounting Standards Board (ASB), the body responsible for developing and issuing Standards of Generally Recognised Accounting Practice for use in the South African public sector. In September 2015, he was elected Chairman of the Technical Committee of the ASB, and also serves on the management committee of the Board. He is an active member of the ASB’s Public Sector Accounting Forum (previously the SAICA Public Sector Technical Forum) and has served on various sub-committees of the Accounting Practices Committee of SAICA and the ASB. Blaise is a registered Skills Assessor with SAICA. Blaise developed and presented SAICA’s seminars entitled “GRAP Basics” and “GRAP Update” from 2010 to 2013. The seminars ran countrywide in all major centres for three years in a row, and were very well received by delegates.
Bridget is a Technical Manager at W.consulting, specialising in financial reporting. Prior to joining W.consulting, Bridget completed her articles with PwC with a focus on Telecommunication, Information and Entertainment clients. Subsequently, she worked as an IFRS Technical consultant at PwC’s Capital Markets and Accounting Consulting Services division. In particular, she has been involved in the implementation of the new revenue standard and filled the role of the secretary of the PwC Global ACS Revenue subgroup. Bridget spent time working abroad and was involved in an IFRS implementation project at one of Australia’s largest listed telecommunications companies. Bridget’s IFRS knowledge and experience is diverse and extends across a number of different standards and industries. She provides technical consulting services and training to the firm's clients on these standards, both locally and abroad. Notable academic achievements include completing her LLB degree concurrently with her accounting qualifications at the University of Stellenbosch.
Khanyisile joins the W.consulting family in the IFRS Advisory division. She did her articles at PwC where she worked with private companies in various industries.
Sanat is part of the IFRS Advisory Team based in our office in Mauritius. He qualified as a chartered certified accountant with Nexia, and has worked for both KPMG and Baker Tilly during his career. While with Nexia, he was an audit supervisor and an IFRS advisor for both local and foreign companies, and served as the technical manager with India Management Services (IMS) Ltd. Sanat has also worked as a finance manager and ACCA lecturer (specialising in Financial Reporting (F7), Financial Management (F9), Corporate Reporting (P2) and Advanced Financial Management (P4)) at FTMS GlobalEducation (Mauritius), where he has provided lectures to both Mauritian and foreign students. Sanat is also a CFA Candidate. Sanat has authored many leading publications on IFRS, and has published eight books in accounting since 1997. He has also more than twenty years of experience in the field of educating professionals and students in IFRS.
Edwin is the head of W.consulting's Audit Risk Management division. He trained at Horwath Leveton Boner with experience of more than 10 years as an audit engagement partner, working on JSE listed companies, Non Profit Companies and owner managed businesses. Edwin also served as the Technical Partner for five years where he gained experience in IFRS, IFRS for SMEs, audit risk and audit quality and presented training to both audit staff and partners. Since joining the firm, Edwin has been involved in the preparation of annual financial statements for certain listed entities and SMEs, has consulted on audit quality, and developed and presented training. Edwin is actively involved at the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and the current chairman of the Assurance Guidance Committee and has served on several of their sub-committees. His areas of expertise include International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Financial Reporting Standards for Small and Medium-sized Entities (IFRS for SMEs), SA GAAP, SA GAAP for SMEs, SAICA Code of Professional Conduct, SAICA Guides, IRBA Guides, Companies Act No. 71 of 2008 and International Standards on Auditing (ISA). He provides technical consulting services and training to the firm's clients on these frameworks, both locally and internationally.
Ilana has over 19 years’ experience in the audit industry. She completed her articles with KPMG, specialising in the manufacturing industry. She then joined EY Financial Services in London where she spent 6 years and her experience gained there included large multinational Investment Banks, such as Investec, Morgan Stanley and Nomura. During this time, Ilana began specialising in audit technical matters and learning & development. Thereafter, she returned to South Africa to head up the Audit Quality and Learning Division for EY Africa, Ilana joins us from Protect-a-Partner as part of our Audit Advisory & Efficiency team. Her areas of expertise include International Standards on Auditing (ISA), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Financial Reporting Standards for Small and Medium-sized Entities (IFRS for SMEs), implementation of ISQC1 and training on ISCQ1, performing monitoring reviews and Engagement Quality reviews on listed and unlisted audits, assisting audit teams throughout the audit process in the form of an additional level of review and providing technical assistance. Ilana also performs pre-issuance reviews of audits of Local Municipalities, District Municipalities and Municipal entities, Provincial Departments and public entities, including reviewing of performance information. Her experience includes in-depth knowledge of MFMA and PFMA as well as GRAP. Ilana has previously assisted the Hawks on a number of Forensic Investigations.
Angella is a Technical Manager at W.consulting. She trained with BDO Zimbabwe and BDO South Africa, where her portfolio of clients included listed entities, public interest entities as well as other significant unlisted entities in the manufacturing retail and property sector. She has worked with other organisations including ISACA and IRBA and has travelled into Africa within her role as the national manager for audit technical with BDO South Africa and has acquired experience and insight into the Southern and Eastern African territory. Angella has been involved in IFRS, and assurance engagements quality control process for JSE-listed and public interest entities and has, over the years, gained significant experience in the interpretation and practical application of IFRS and International Standards in Auditing. Furthermore, Angella is involved in information systems audit and internal audit discussions and has presented on topical issues including fraud risk management at conferences and workshops. Angella Makowe serves on the ISACA South Africa Board in the treasury function and sits on the SAICA Johannesburg District Committee as well as being Vice-President for SAICA YCAN division which serves the interests of CA (SA)’s under the age of 35. She also sits as an observer on the IRBA Standard setting committee and works on various task groups within the IRBA.
Georgia has more than 17 years of practical audit experience. Before the merger with W.consulting, she was the CEO of Protect-a-Partner International. Georgia has over 10 years’ experience with Protect-a-Partner International, and during this time she has gained experience in the implementation of quality control policies and procedures, file reviews (pre-and post-issuance), technical assistance as well as development and presentation of technical training. Georgia completed her training and continued as a manager at the Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) where she worked on Local and District Municipalities, Provincial Departments and Public Entities. During her time at the AGSA, she was also the team leader on the audit of the United Nations Population Fund. Her areas of expertise include International Standards on Auditing (ISA), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Financial Reporting Standards for Small and Medium-sized Entities (IFRS for SMEs), implementation of ISQC1 policies and procedures and the relevant training, performing monitoring reviews and Engagement Quality Control Reviews on listed and unlisted audits, assisting audit teams throughout the audit process in the form of an additional level of review and providing technical assistance. Georgia also performs pre-issuance reviews of audits of Local Municipalities, District Municipalities and Municipal entities, Provincial Departments, National Departments and Public Entities, including reviewing of performance information. Her experience includes in-depth knowledge of MFMA and PFMA as well as GRAP.
Maryke van Deventer has over 9 years’ experience in the audit industry. She is a Technical Manager at W.consulting, specialising in ISQC1 and audit technical and related matters. She completed her articles at MeyerOtto Incorporated (‘Moore Stephens – George’) with a focus on private company clients, predominantly in the manufacturing, investment property and section 21 companies. During this time, she was also involved in performing accounting and taxation services to clients, as well as the compilation of financial statements for Companies, Close Corporations, Trusts and individuals. She then joined Protect-a-Partner International where she acted as audit manager on several public entity audits in the mining and energy industries. She also acted as the senior manager in the financial turnaround project for the Department of Public Works. Her areas of expertise include implementation of Quality Control Manuals and performing monitoring reviews on audit files, as well as firm level reviews, as required by ISQC1 and the firm’s quality control policies and procedures and training on ISQC1 and ethical requirements as per the Companies Act and the Code of Professional Conduct. Her areas of expertise also include International Standards on Auditing (ISA), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Financial Reporting Standards for Small and Medium-sized Entities (IFRS for SMEs), performing Engagement Quality Control Reviews of audits in the Private Sector, as well as for Provincial Departments and public entities and assisting audit teams throughout the audit process in the form of additional level reviews and providing technical assistance. She was also involved in performing regulatory / practice reviews for the Public Accountants and Auditors Board (PAAB) in Namibia to assess compliance with ISAs, IFRS and IFRS for SMEs as well as the implementation and operating effectiveness of an auditing firm’s quality control policies and procedures.
Suzanne has been a Chartered Accountant and registered auditor for 15 years. Her areas of expertise include public and private sector auditing. She has been involved in various engagement quality control reviews (including Eskom and Transnet). In addition to this, she has performed various pre-issuance reviews for the Auditor-General (SA) in respect of public entities, national and provincial departments as well as municipalities. Her duties also include assisting audit firms in implementing quality control policies and procedures as well as performing monitoring reviews. She is one of the team members who performs quality control reviews (both at firm and file level) on behalf of the Public Accountants’ and Auditors’ Board of Namibia. During 2016, she assisted the East African Community (consisting of the Republics of Kenya. Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi) in the development of the Assurance and Monitoring Review Framework to assist the respective professional accountancy organizations of these countries. In addition to this, she has assisted the South African Revenue Service and Water Trading Entity (Department of Water Affairs) with updating their financial policies and procedures in accordance with Standards of Generally Recognized Accounting Practice (GRAP). Suzanne was employed by Protect-a-Partner before joining W.consulting as well as the Independent Regulatory Board of Auditors (IRBA).
Rodgers is a Corporate Financier and an IFRS expert. He has worked for Nedbank as an IFRS and Strategic accounting advisor; Naspers as a Consolidation and technical accountant; KPMG as an Audit Manager – Banking; and PWC where he began his training. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, business valuations, due diligences, as well as other transaction services and IFRS valuations such as purchase price allocations, employee share based payments valuations, complex impairment calculations etc. After becoming a Chartered Accountant, Rodgers attained a certificate in Financial Mathematics and Modelling from the Association of Corporate Treasurers UK (ACT). He has recently achieved a certificate in Mergers, Acquisitions and Restructuring at Harvard University. Rodgers has lead and project-managed implementations of a number of new IFRSs including IFRS 9 at one of South Africa’s largest banks. He has facilitated numerous technical training events and seminars on existing, new and emerging IFRSs. Rodgers has a wealth of experience in working with complex consolidations involving a myriad of partially owned subsidiaries, a number of joint arrangements, associates and investments, multiple functional currencies and reportable segments. Rodgers served on SAICA's technical accounting committee - Accounting Practices Committee (APC). He also served on the Banking Project Group Committee (BPGC) of SAICA and was tasked with providing International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) updates to the committee with a special focus on IFRS9, Financial Instruments. Rodgers created and currently administers “IFRS 9 Implementation Group” on LinkedIn; the platform on which practical IFRS 9 implementation issues are discussed.
Ngoni joins W.consulting as a Valuations and Financial Modelling Specialist. He has worked as an Actuarial Assistant at Independent Actuaries and Consultants (Pty) Ltd where he was responsible for pension funds valuations, review of investment policies of pension funds and the review of contribution rates. He has also worked for more than 2 years as a Credit Analyst at Ecobank in the Corporate Bank where he was responsible for structuring the way to finance projects of corporate clients, credit applications and client relationship management. Ngoni is a member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) in the UK and the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA) and is a holder of a Diploma in Actuarial Science with the IFoA. He is working on qualifying as a Finance and Investments Actuary.
Heinrich is a Technical Manager at W.consulting, specialising in audit technical and related matters. He completed his articles at PwC with a focus on Private Company clients, predominantly in the agricultural, manufacturing and mining industries. He then spent time in the United States of America working on the audits of large listed entities in the manufacturing and utilities fields. Upon returning to SA, Heinrich spent 5 years as a manager in PwC’s Business School which delivers training to partners and staff across the Southern African region. His role as Assurance Learning and Development Manager included servicing approximately 1500 partners and staff with their training requirements. Heinrich then specialised in delivering training to trainee accountants in the assurance division, presenting across the Southern African Region. His portfolio later grew to include Risk and Quality, Ethics and Independence training curriculums. Heinrich has extensive experience in ISQC1 reviews, having been involved in the Quality Management Systems for PwC South Africa and PwC Malawi. His other areas of expertise include the SAICA Training Programme, SAICA Code of Professional Conduct and International Standards on Auditing (ISA). He provides technical consulting services and training to the firm's clients on these frameworks, both locally and internationally. Notable achievements include serving for 2 years as a representative on the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants’ National Trainee Committee. Only 17 trainee accountants were selected to serve on this committee from across South Africa.
Nikki obtained a Bachelor of Business Science at the University of Cape Town, majoring in Marketing, Economics and Applied Business Statistics; with Honours in Marketing.
She began her career as a marketing trainee with Johnson & Johnson and went on to enjoy 16 years of corporate experience with respected multinational companies such as Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Nedbank and MoneyGram International. She has worked in South Africa and globally – with extensive pan-African, European and US experience.
Nikki can relate to the stimulation, challenges and stresses of working in fast-changing industries and environments, and this is reflected in her strategic input into facilitation sessions.

Mark has over 19 years experience in the IT industry, after studying PC Engineering he moved on to work for Intekom, the ISP for Telkom South Africa during the budding years of the internet ending up as a Unix systems administrator. Mark then changed direction for 6 years starting his own IT support business then moving on to the operations director for The Syndicate, a company that imported and distributed furniture around South Africa to large retail groups. But his call was always to the IT field and even during these years kept developing software systems from automated loading / delivery schedules from orders to small internal systems. And so 7 years ago Mark joined W.consulting and today heads the Development divison as we move forward in creating some of the top digital learning solutions for professionals on the planet.
Sarah-Jane Mackenzie majored in marketing with the institute of marketing management. She has experience as a member of senior management at Procter & Gamble as the market strategy and training manager in the UK and South Africa. Sarah has 7 years corporate experience in the global market in effective selling, strategy setting, marketing, relationship management, negotiations training and communications. She has conducted training for Procter & Gamble throughout Western Europe and Middle East Africa on the above mentioned professional skills. She has worked with both international and local companies including J Sainsburys, Waitrose, Massmart group, NuClicks, Shoprite and the Pick n Pay Group. Sarah has delivered training extensively for professionals in South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, Mauritius, Seychelles, Zambia and the United Kingdom and Western Europe.
Born in Mauritius in 1986, Nicholas attended the art department of St Joseph's College and later attained a Bachelors degree in Design and Art at Curtin University Australia. Nicholas has been working in the design world for over 10 years, mastering various creative styles and developing his knowledge on the latest design application. Nicholas specializes in print design, web designs, magazines, packaging, animation and video production. He joined W.consulting in 2015, bringing all of his expertise with him to deliver world class designs for the various parts of the organisation.
Kenneth is in Systems Support. He holds a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) qualification and is a certified PHP and Mysql Web Developer. He is currently studying for a Diploma in IT through UNISA. He currently provides internal and external support as well as develop client systems. He is also an avid video recorder who assists with the filming of the company products. He has been with the company for over 7 years.
Bonolo has been with the company since 2011 and is a holder of a National Diploma in Human Resources Management. She is currently in the Support department.
Audrey joined W.consulting in 2013, and currently working as a Product Consultant in the Support department. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Banking degree and has passed her CFA level 2 exams. She resolves and handles client queries, compiles products reports and provides support to E-learning products.
Ethan recently joined the company in the Support department. He attends to client queries on all products as well as building and maintaining relationships with clients.
David graduated from the University of Technology, Mauritius. David has been working and evolving in the design world since 7 years now. He has been working in different fields of the industry, such as off-set printing, advertising and digital media. Joining the company in February 2017, he brings with him all his experience and expertise, to create trendy and impactful design for the organization.
Althea has recently joined the company as the Sales Manager. She is a holder of a Diploma in Sales Management and is currently studying Digital Marketing, Customer Engagement, Planning and Analytics with the Columbia Business School.
Yvette has been with the company 7 years and handles all the general office administration.
Stephanie is the Office Manager of the Mauritian Branch and has 10 years' experience in General Office Management. Prior in joining the firm, she has been involved in the administration department of different sectors such as ICT, Industrial Risk Management and Professional trainings providers. She joined W.consulting in 2015, where she coordinates the CPD Sorted events for both Mauritius and South Africa and provides administrative support to the Mauritian team.
Joyce joined the company in 2012. She manages the front office and handles the preparation of study materials for clients. She also assists in the Accounts department. She is a holder of a Diploma in Technical Accounting.
Russell began his career as a trainee accountant and soon followed his passion for people and become the Client Relationship Manager for a medium sized audit firm. He has over 10 years experience as a Client Relationship Management in the audit industry and believes that having an understanding of accounting and certain technical aspects of the industry, combined with good relationship skills enables him to deliver excellence in his role. Russell has a keen eye for branding and marketing and applies his skills to add value to the business and what it stands for.
Wadzanayi joins W.consulting as Senior Manager: Operations. She is a seasoned Accountant and Administrator with more than 15 years’ experience. She is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute Management Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. She is also a member of the Institute of Risk Management South Africa, with a demonstrated record of achievement within several sectors namely, manufacturing, service, non-profit organisations, agriculture, transport and retail. She is a holder of a Bachelors in Accountancy honours degree from the University of Zimbabwe and a Masters in Business Leadership degree from the University of South Africa.
Mercy joined the organisation in 2009 and ensures that the offices, boardroom and training rooms are clean as well as supply staff and clients with various drinks and eats.
Fabiola joined the Mauritian branch in 2016, where she ensures that the offices and boardroom are tidy and properly kept. She also supplies staff and clients with various drinks and eats.
