Raymond is a Director with W.consulting. He trained with Coopers & Lybrand and Ernst & Young, where his portfolio of clients included listed multinational entities, public interest entities as well as other significant unlisted entities. Since leaving the profession, Raymond has worked across various industries that include Agri-processing, Aerospace and Defence, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods, Manufacturing, Mining, Public Utilities, Telecommunications and Travel, Hospitality and Leisure. He has been involved in IFRS, Sustainability Reporting and Integrated Reporting consulting and implementation projects for JSE-listed and public interest entities and has, over the years, gained significant experience in the interpretation and practical application of IFRS and corporate reporting. He has also consulted to the World Bank on capacity building on IFRS skills and monitoring in Southern Africa. He is a co-author of the publications Applying IFRS for SMEs and for a number of years was co-author of the internationally-renowned Wiley Interpretation and Application of International Financial Reporting Standards. Raymond is a member of the IFRS Foundation’s Small and Medium-Sized Entities Implementation Group (SMEIG) and of the Financial Reporting Investigations Panel of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. He also serves on the Zimbabwe Accounting Practices Board and sits on the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Continuing Professional Development and Legal & Compliance Committees.
Tapiwa has over 20 years’ experience in financial reporting and business consultancy. He is a Chartered Accountant (SA). He trained with Coopers & Lybrand and also has experience with Ernst & Young and Andersen locally and regionally. Internationally Tapiwa has worked in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. Tapiwa’s experience includes exposure to large listed and public sector entities. Industry experience covers financial & professional services, mining, manufacturing, tourism, and transport amongst others. Tapiwa is a member of the Accounting Practices Committee (APC) of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. Apart from being a member of SAICA, Tapiwa is also a member of the Advancement of Black Accountants in Southern Africa (ABASA). In 2007 Tapiwa served as a member of the GAAP Monitoring Panel (GMP) of the Johannesburg Securities Exchange (JSE).
Blaise is a Technical Director at W.consulting, specialising in financial reporting in the public sector. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Grant Thornton as an Audit Manager, Gobodo Inc as a Senior Manager in the Technical Standards division, and at Protect a Partner International as Head of Accounting and Technical Excellence. His areas of expertise include Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Financial Reporting Standard for Small and Medium-sized Entities (IFRS for SMEs), International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISA). He provides technical consulting services and training to the firm's clients on these frameworks, both locally and abroad. In March 2012, he was appointed by the South African Minister of Finance to serve as a board member of the Accounting Standards Board (ASB), the body responsible for developing and issuing Standards of Generally Recognised Accounting Practice for use in the South African public sector. In September 2015, he was elected Chairman of the Technical Committee of the ASB, and also serves on the management committee of the Board. He is an active member of the ASB’s Public Sector Accounting Forum (previously the SAICA Public Sector Technical Forum) and has served on various sub-committees of the Accounting Practices Committee of SAICA and the ASB. Blaise is a registered Skills Assessor with SAICA. Blaise developed and presented SAICA’s seminars entitled “GRAP Basics” and “GRAP Update” from 2010 to 2013. The seminars ran countrywide in all major centres for three years in a row, and were very well received by delegates.
Bridget is a Technical Manager at W.consulting, specialising in financial reporting. Prior to joining W.consulting, Bridget completed her articles with PwC with a focus on Telecommunication, Information and Entertainment clients. Subsequently, she worked as an IFRS Technical consultant at PwC’s Capital Markets and Accounting Consulting Services division. In particular, she has been involved in the implementation of the new revenue standard and filled the role of the secretary of the PwC Global ACS Revenue subgroup. Bridget spent time working abroad and was involved in an IFRS implementation project at one of Australia’s largest listed telecommunications companies. Bridget’s IFRS knowledge and experience is diverse and extends across a number of different standards and industries. She provides technical consulting services and training to the firm's clients on these standards, both locally and abroad. Notable academic achievements include completing her LLB degree concurrently with her accounting qualifications at the University of Stellenbosch.
Sanat is part of the IFRS Advisory Team based in our office in Mauritius. He qualified as a chartered certified accountant with Nexia, and has worked for both KPMG and Baker Tilly during his career. While with Nexia, he was an audit supervisor and an IFRS advisor for both local and foreign companies, and served as the technical manager with India Management Services (IMS) Ltd. Sanat has also worked as a finance manager and ACCA lecturer (specialising in Financial Reporting (F7), Financial Management (F9), Corporate Reporting (P2) and Advanced Financial Management (P4)) at FTMS GlobalEducation (Mauritius), where he has provided lectures to both Mauritian and foreign students. Sanat is also a CFA Candidate. Sanat has authored many leading publications on IFRS, and has published eight books in accounting since 1997. He has also more than twenty years of experience in the field of educating professionals and students in IFRS.
Khanyisile joins the W.consulting family in the IFRS Advisory division. She did her articles at PwC where she worked with private companies in various industries.
Rodgers is a Corporate Financier and an IFRS expert. He has worked for Nedbank as an IFRS and Strategic accounting advisor; Naspers as a Consolidation and technical accountant; KPMG as an Audit Manager – Banking; and PWC where he began his training. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, business valuations, due diligences, as well as other transaction services and IFRS valuations such as purchase price allocations, employee share based payments valuations, complex impairment calculations etc. After becoming a Chartered Accountant, Rodgers attained a certificate in Financial Mathematics and Modelling from the Association of Corporate Treasurers UK (ACT). He has recently achieved a certificate in Mergers, Acquisitions and Restructuring at Harvard University. Rodgers has lead and project-managed implementations of a number of new IFRSs including IFRS 9 at one of South Africa’s largest banks. He has facilitated numerous technical training events and seminars on existing, new and emerging IFRSs. Rodgers has a wealth of experience in working with complex consolidations involving a myriad of partially owned subsidiaries, a number of joint arrangements, associates and investments, multiple functional currencies and reportable segments. Rodgers served on SAICA's technical accounting committee - Accounting Practices Committee (APC). He also served on the Banking Project Group Committee (BPGC) of SAICA and was tasked with providing International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) updates to the committee with a special focus on IFRS9, Financial Instruments. Rodgers created and currently administers “IFRS 9 Implementation Group” on LinkedIn; the platform on which practical IFRS 9 implementation issues are discussed.
Mark has over 19 years experience in the IT industry, after studying PC Engineering he moved on to work for Intekom, the ISP for Telkom South Africa during the budding years of the internet ending up as a Unix systems administrator. Mark then changed direction for 6 years starting his own IT support business then moving on to the operations director for The Syndicate, a company that imported and distributed furniture around South Africa to large retail groups. But his call was always to the IT field and even during these years kept developing software systems from automated loading / delivery schedules from orders to small internal systems. And so 7 years ago Mark joined W.consulting and today heads the Development divison as we move forward in creating some of the top digital learning solutions for professionals on the planet.
Sarah-Jane Mackenzie majored in marketing with the Institute of Marketing Management. She started her career at Procter & Gamble (P&G) as part of the Graduate Induction Program in the UK. Her roles at P&G were extensive and educational both from understanding how the business operated and how to manage and develop people to achieve sustainable growth in various divisions and countries. Sarah brings over 18 years of corporate experience with respected Multinational companies to W.consulting with first-hand experience in creating business opportunities, starting divisions, product development, managing teams, effective selling, strategy setting, vision creation, marketing, relationship management, negotiations, business analytics and communications. She consults and delivers extensive training programs for corporates on the above mentioned areas in Western Europe, South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, Mauritius, Seychelles, Zambia, and the United Kingdom.
Born in Mauritius in 1986, Nicholas attended the art department of St Joseph's College and later attained a Bachelors degree in Design and Art at Curtin University Australia. Nicholas has been working in the design world for over 10 years, mastering various creative styles and developing his knowledge on the latest design application. Nicholas specializes in print design, web designs, magazines, packaging, animation and video production. He joined W.consulting in 2015, bringing all of his expertise with him to deliver world class designs for the various parts of the organisation.
David graduated from the University of Technology, Mauritius. David has been working and evolving in the design world since 7 years now. He has been working in different fields of the industry, such as off-set printing, advertising and digital media. Joining the company in February 2017, he brings with him all his experience and expertise, to create trendy and impactful design for the organization.
Bonolo has been with the company since 2011 and is a holder of a National Diploma in Human Resources Management. She is currently in the Support department.
Yvette has been with the company 7 years and handles all the general office administration.
Stephanie is the Office Manager of the Mauritian Branch and has 10 years' experience in General Office Management. Prior in joining the firm, she has been involved in the administration department of different sectors such as ICT, Industrial Risk Management and Professional trainings providers. She joined W.consulting in 2015, where she coordinates the CPD Sorted events for both Mauritius and South Africa and provides administrative support to the Mauritian team.
Joyce joined the company in 2012. She manages the front office and handles the preparation of study materials for clients. She also assists in the Accounts department. She is a holder of a Diploma in Technical Accounting.
Prior to joining W.consulting, Russell gained over 10 years' experience as a Client Relationship Manager at a medium sized audit firm. His role exposed him to many technical conversations around accounting, financial reporting and taxation. This experience, combined with his client relationship skills and his constant desire for finding solutions, enables him to deliver excellence in his role. He performs a multifaceted role focussing on new business development and supply chain management as well as assisting on an operational level with administration and support. In addition to managing our supplier profiles, and assisting clients with planning their training events, he is responsible for anything related to tenders and RFQs. Russell is always willing to assist with any queries you may have.
Wadzanayi joins W.consulting as Senior Manager: Operations. She is a seasoned Accountant and Administrator with more than 15 years’ experience. She is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute Management Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. She is also a member of the Institute of Risk Management South Africa, with a demonstrated record of achievement within several sectors namely, manufacturing, service, non-profit organisations, agriculture, transport and retail. She is a holder of a Bachelors in Accountancy honours degree from the University of Zimbabwe and a Masters in Business Leadership degree from the University of South Africa.
Fabiola joined the Mauritian branch in 2016, where she ensures that the offices and boardroom are tidy and properly kept. She also supplies staff and clients with various drinks and eats.
